Thanatotheristes
by Natee
Thanatotheristes is a late Cretaceous tyrannosaur whose name means ‘Reaper of death’. I couldn’t help this image of the beast in Grim Reaper guise, with scythe and cloak and all, popping into my head. A humorous bit of silliness for such a dramatic name. The addition of the French title is for no other reason than that I like the way it sounds, and adds yet another layer of theatre to the whole thing.
Brown pencil on plain notebook paper, 125 x 190 mm. From 2020.
