My first encounter with the faeries called silfs, or sylphs, was at the Goðafoss waterfall in Iceland.
As the day was drawing to a close, I could see them dancing amidst the spray of the waterfall in the
last rays of sunlight. Their lives are as fleeting and delicate as the iridescent rainbows they create.
Their dances are a sight of beauty and often thought to be a sign of hope and good fortune to come.
