The Lovers

From a new series of paintings tentatively called Tranceplants, which will be 78 paintings of magical herbs and plants, one for each tarot card. The Lovers symbolizes emotional decisions and the union between two independent and equal partners. I chose peonies because for their flamboyant blooms that are perfect flowers (capable of self-pollination), and for the generosity they exhibit in their symbiotic relationship with ants.
