Awakening The Inner Spirit

Creativity has waned over these last few years, the environment seems less receptive to it than it was just 4 years ago.  We all need a break from these rigid and politically paralyzing times, or at least a boost of inner strength to help us carry on within its grip.

I paint for many reasons, and now these days, I think it is to personally heal and to help others heal as well.  My imagination has been hijacked over these last few years, and paintings like this one are a way of swimming back to shore, find firm footing and enjoy, invent, inspire myself , and hope to do the same for others.

I was inspired by a few things:  one of them was from lesser known Greek goddess, Bia, goddess of strength and power.  I feel like we can all use a boost of inspiration in the strength and power department, and she really spoke to me regarding this matter.

I also believe in a new day, and that feeling of resetting everything, starting fresh.  Early morning, crisp air, fog burning off and the crackling of life bursting the icy shell away.  The air is fresh and feels good deep in the lungs, a burst of energy.

She (Each one of us) has captured the light within and is charging it up to release it into the day, spread some good, and help illuminate the planet towards a positive and inspirational direction.
