Moonflower

The Moonflower vine produces beautiful nocturnal blooms. I’ve always been captivated by vining plants. Especially flowering vines. Their growth takes on the form of the structure they are attached to. Two plants can be so varied in shape. Coupled with their fast opening flowers the Moonflower seems almost personified in its movement. You could imaging them looking back at you. Dozens of twinkling eyes as the sun sets. Slightly discomforting, but still captivating.

The painting is made to appear to “float” almost an inch off the wall when hung.
