To Reach the Dawn by Path of Night

by Amelia Leonards

There is no Dawn without Dusk, just as there is no Day without Night.  If you wish to behold the sky as it lightens, as the stars fade one by one, there’s only one way to truly do so: you must walk the Path of Night. Very few choose that Path, but it finds us all the same, drawing us in without warning like a hungry, gaping mouth. It winds through a deep, dim forest, hemmed in on all sides by twisted trees, thick dark leaves blocking out the moon.  It’s a cold and still road, and the only sounds you’ll hear are those within your own heart- the ones you’ve stifled and silenced for years, decades, centuries. The ones that hurt the most.

But if you only stay on the Path and keep walking, one foot in front of the other, even as your soul aches and your body fails you, then one day you’ll emerge from the looming trees just as blushing rose brushes the clouds.  And you will behold the Dawn.

We must keep traveling on.

We must brave the Night.

As always, this piece looks amazing in a gold frame, BUT will be sold and shipped in an 11×14″ white mat.  Why?  Two reasons: A- maybe our frame tastes are WILDLY different, and you’d like to pick your own, and B- the owls have an easier time flying to you without glass.  Glass makes them nervous.
