Parasaurolophus
by Owen Weber
Parasaurolophus was a hadrosaurid that lived in the Late Cretaceous period (about 75 Million years ago). They measured around 31 ft long and their cranial length was 5-6 ft including the crest. This dinosaur was biped and quadruped, meaning they walked on both two legs and four legs. There are many theories as to the function of the crest, but the most common idea is that it could make a very loud resonating sound, used to alert other dinosaurs.
These animals were, in my opinion, some of the most beautiful animals to walk the earth. They have a very graceful look to them, and were tremendous in size. Parasaurolophus is among my favorite dinosaurs, and has been since I was very small.
