King Tides

by Katie Croonenberghs

When waters brush the highest rock, filling the shore with sea

The swirling deep and eddies pull, and waves crash upon stone towers

You’ll know it’s come, the King of Tides

Rising tall with thundering boom and power

Painted in watercolor and gouache.
Artwork is 9×6 inches, conservation mounted and double matted to fit an 11×14 inch frame
Mat colors are dark sandy brown and deep muted forest green.

Katie is a fantasy artist based in the greater Seattle area. Specializing in watercolor and currently exploring gouache, her focus is on fantastical creatures with strong roots in our natural world.

Landscapes and environments play a large role in her works as a result of growing up surrounded and inspired by majestic scenery of Montana, and further fed by the beauty of the Pacific North West.

Recurring themes in her work include dragons and other elegant mythical or magical creatures in fully rendered landscapes and environments - often times filled with plenty of trees and rocks.

Katie can often be found showcasing work at local conventions in the PNW.
