“Perhaps the Butterfly is proof that you can go through a great deal of darkness and still become something beautiful.” – Laina McDowell

This little beauty is a mixed media painting made with Art Resin, Alcohol inks, Skeleton leaves, washi tape, and waterproof paper. The butterfly is a hand cut print of one of my own past paintings, each is hand-embellished with acrylic paint to give the butterfly more dimension.
I use resin to create my entire substrate, there is no other painting surface, the final result is a truly unique 3 dimensional layered resin painting. Each layer encases another collage element, adding depth and forever incasing each element in clear resin, creating a little resin universe for the viewer to enjoy

this painting is a 4 inch circle of resin and is about 1.5 inches thick. I attached a sawtooth bracket to the back for simple and seamless hanging
