The inspiration for this drawing came from an article I read about an x-ray that was taken of a curious statue. The transparent imagery confirmed the suspicion, that the figure’s mouth contained actual human teeth. Out of this idea evolved my concept for an image that was a simultaneous view of the inside and out, while thematically creating a puzzle of nature.
See additional pictures below to view the final framed drawing. The frame is antique and made of thin brass, imprinted with tiny flowers. The glass is in good condition other than a few small nicks, and I wanted to keep the original for it’s nice slight bubble curve. I also kept the original backing, which is aged black velvet with easel stand. The piece can hang on the wall or stand on a table.
