“Autumn Fairy” is inspired by my lifetime love for nature, fairy lore and fantasy artists. She is a gentle girl among the fall asters, a little sketch that became a painting. I sketch in the very early morning hours every day, and I am frequently surprised at what emerges. Most of my work is darker and more mysterious, but a few weeks ago, I found myself sketching sweet fairies, thinking about all of those wonderful Victorian fairy painters. I painted her on stretched print making paper with watercolor and gouache with gold, copper and silver accents around the border. 10 x 10″ – will ship world wide!
“Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand.”
