Paradise Found

Science Fiction has been doing a fantastic job on screen with the visual development which has been incredibly inspiring to paint from as inspiration.  Annihilation was one of those movies for me.  The deer in that film were beautiful and only had a brief moment on screen before disappearing forever.  I found them amidst this beautiful paradise transformed, and captured them in oil on this 9 x 12″ panel.  The painting cannot be photographed without losing at least 20% of the total chroma in the piece.  The colors are more subdued but extremely rich and vibrant for the tonal range and contrast point in the piece.
