by Francis Vallejo

An ink and acrylic painting on illustration board. An initial abstract and textured collage was applied to the board to provide a rich surface to work on. The rendering was done in the old master technique of grisaille which involves glazing color on top of a black and white painting.

The artwork’s image is an unframed 8×10 inches.

This piece was a result of testing out techniques for an upcoming military themed book project.
