Silence, stillness… words can never tell it. Powerful, the sharp edge of spirit refined into a blade of truth ready to defend beauty, yet not expecting to have to. Purity protects, unconsumed by fires that force laser focus on worlds within, exciting them to express in joy and service. Ever present, ever watching, his harmonies dancing amidst spheres… he awaits a Summons.
As with many of my paintings, this one “almost” came together by itself, as if it had been fully designed in some other realm, with my job just being to tune in and, like a midwife, deliver it bit by bit into this dimension.
I say that because once again, though I obviously started off with relevant elements that I wanted to build the visuals for Monk around (like the Chintamani and fire images), other symbols I stumbled across that “asked” to be a part of it after I’d already consummated the original design mysteriously fit like a planned overlay in perfect proportion to every other part. This is what makes the creative process truly magical at times.
