Magestic

by Kelsey Garland

This one of a kind Layered Resin Painting depicts a Majestic African Elephant over a geometric pattern. Behind are blue and gold alcohol inks suspended in clear art resin.

The painting surface is made entirely of Art Resin, using a silicone mold to create the shape. Alcohol Inks are used to make the textured background. When alcohol inks are added to Resin a there is a unique chemical reaction, creating cloud-like textures that are one-of-a-kind. I add clear resin in between painted layers to add depth and detail. The green triangle pattern is hand painted with acrylic paint pens. The elephant is a print of a previous oil painting of mine, I print them on waterproof paper, hand cut, and seal each print with resin and then forever preserving them in Resin. Because of this no two pieces are identical and each Resin Print is truly an independent work of art.

The painting is a 4 inch circle and is about 1 inch thick, it weighs 4 oz. A sawtooth bracket has been attached to the back for easy wall display, all you need is a nail or screw and your painting is ready to hang.
