Graphite Pencil

9 x 12 inches

Featuring the Atlas Moth, one of the largest moth species on the planet. With a wingspan of 12 inches, it spends its life cycle throughout the Asian continent. As a large 4.5 inch caterpillar it feeds ravenously in preparation for its metamorphosis and its adult phase of life. When it’s eaten enough it cloisters itself in a cocoon for a month. The Atlas then emerges as an adult with the sole purpose of reproducing and finding a mate. Despite its impressive size, the Atlas moth has no mouth, relying on fat stores gathered during its time as a pupae to survive long enough to propagate the next generation.
